EXPECT DEEP SNOW!  Collingville Trail is above Peters Creek in Petersville and we’ll ride out what is now a bumpy track to wide, open meadows where the settled snow base is 2-3 feet with 4 new inches of snow Tuesday (more Wednesday it’s said).   A Powerhounds’ Paradise, there is meadow after meadow of untracked as far as you have enough gas and energy!

SNOWMACHINE TRACKS OF 146″ OR LONGER HIGHLY RECOMMENDED (unless you’re an “expert” on a shorter track in deep snow)

Meet 10am at MP121.5 parking lot on the Parks Highway (just north of Trapper Creek) and be ready to ride at 10:30am.  Out East-West Express Trail to Petersville Road, short distance to cross Peters Creek (easy stream crossing) then ascend a slight grade where the track is a bit “chopped up”, then branch off into the open untracked meadows.  Probably 60-75 miles round trip, have full gas and oil for your sled.  IMPORTANT: BRING A SACK LUNCH AND BEVERAGE, even though we’re passing Forks Roadhouse, they’re closed for the season due to the Governor’s mandated closure of 3/17.  Vitus Energy in Trapper Creek has a small grocery store but there are no food services open.  Return to the cars 4-5pm.

RSVP will include group-texting for last minute updates–if you can’t receive group texts or don’t have a cell phone, let ride leader know.
