MP121.5 Parks Highway parking lot
Tokistina Loop/Denali State Park DAY RIDE on Saturday, 3/23/24. This is a JOINT-CLUB day ride with Curry Ridge Riders of South Denali !
Nothing technical here but rated intermediate for the distance round trip as 65-70 miles (more if you romp in the powder!).
The loop is now groomed but weather forecasts are changing constantly this winter so please RSVP 907-242-0808 if you’re joining to be in the notifications especially last minute advisory.
We’ll be following the groomed trail stopping occasionally for play-time out in the swamps (optional). This is a family-friendly ride but must be able to maintain steady 35-40mph minimum speed in the open flats to make proper progress for a full day of riding. We will make occasional stops along the way for orientation and landmark mentions. Meet at MP121.5 parking lot just north of Trapper Creek on the Parks Highway at 10am ready to ride by 10:30am. Make sure your sled is in good mechanical condition, have spare belt, full gas & oil (extra gas jug if you’re a powderhound is advised), sack lunch and something to drink. Expect to return to the cars by 4-5pm.
