Welcome to December 45th 2020. While our application to host a fundraiser for Providence Cancer Center was approved, we have discussed at length the possibility of HOW we could continue while adhering to the strictly enforced CDC “guidelines.” After much conversation, we don’t see any possible way to do that for the meet and greet or sign out portions of the event. For those of you who have been in the past, you know how cozy it gets in there!!
In addition to that, we have already heard that there are several who cannot attend due to their own health compromises or those of close family members/friends ~ many ladies simply do not want to risk a potential exposure to covid from being in a large group within such close proximity. To top it all off, we have had scheduling conflicts pop up with some of our key players and some with extended family issues.
As the covid vaccine becomes more readily available and as mandates and “guidelines” become less stringent, we know that in the future we can continue to have these types of events… but this year we weren’t so lucky (insert irony as this was going to be our 13th annual event!!)
Please consider still donating to Providence Cancer Center support programs by texting “AKLADIESRIDE” to 41444 and you will receive a link to be able to make a tax deductible donation.
We will still place an order for t-shirts. This year they will be available for purchase for $27.65 which includes shipping and handling, or only $20 if you can pick up from me in Wasilla. The proceeds from t-shirt sales will go to Providence Cancer Center. I’ll post more about this separately.
Also… we absolutely encourage you ALL to get out and ride this winter! Some of my favorite riding memories have been with just my girls Reach out to other ladies, don’t be shy ~ be confident and adventurous! The Powder Room awaits us all
