U.S. Forest Service extends deadline for public comment to 8/26/19

The U.S. Forest Service is considering a revsion of the National Environmental Policy Act Compliance and they have EXTENDED the deadline for public comment to AUGUST 26, 2019.
Periodically, USFS aligns the stewardship of public-use lands to comply with budgets and environmental impact. They are concerned that the increased fire problems of late is causing an excess burden on the agency resources and accelerating their budget deficit.
The primary response to this condition is to close selected areas of our state completely to public access (motorized or not) and this comment period allows for public input on the final decisions to be made before summer 2020 when the closures will be announced.
