Trail report for Thursday 21 Feb: The trail from Trapper Lake to Susitna Landing got groomed today. All the overflow that was showing up after last weekend snow storm has frozen up on the trail but off trail it is still there. With today’s grooming, the trail is in very good condition. We were able to ride the North/Rabideaux trail to pack the route but will groom it next week. Also, we went down on the South/Deshka Trail to pack the route but only got part way before we had to turn around. If you venture down on the the South trail be be very careful and aware of all the creek and pond crossing as there was a lot of overflow and in places the ice is getting soft and unstable. Again, we are hoping to get back down on the South trail next week.
With all the new snow and the daylight coming back there is great riding both on and off trail. As you go off trail, please be kind to the groomed trail. A lot of work goes into these groomed trails. Be aware of your surroundings and be safe out there.
