REQUIRED GEAR FOR THIS EVENT:
Avalanche Gear
____Beacon & extra batteries
____Probe – recommend 270mm min.
____Shovel : metal backcountry avalanche shovel.
____Inclinometer: Any type. An Inclinometer app will work also
In Pack or on machine:
____Backpack
____Lunch Food: food and snacks for the day
____Water Bottle: 1 liter, or a Thermos.
____Headlamp: Bring extra batteries.
____Extra Clothing: Gloves/mittens and warm puffy jacket. Be prepared for whatever.
____Notebook and Pencil: Bring extra pencils. Pens will freeze
____Extra Goggles
____Foot Warmers Optional. These are helpful during the blustery cold days.
____First Aid Kit – small emergency type or just bring a few items
CLOTHING:
____Long Underwear Top and Bottom: Light to mid-weight Polypropylene, Capilene or wool.
____Mid-Weight Top and Bottom
____Hard Shell Top and Bottom: Wind and waterproof
____Warm Hat: Fleece or wool.
____Warm Gloves/Mittens: Bring a few pairs of varying warmth.
____Glove liners:
____Insulated Puffy: Synthetic or down puffy with hood extra
____Warm socks: Polypropylene or wool.
____Boots: Warm- Bunny boots are a good choice
____ Helmet
____Face Mask
Machine:
____Spare Belt
____Fuel
____Tool kit
____Full on oil and coolant
____Pre ride inspection and lube
Survival Kit:
____Have a basic survival kit- matches, lighters, fire starter, saw, signal mirror, flare, flagging, space blanket etc. etc.
If you have a climbing harness please bring it just in case we decide to do any glacier riding. (there will be a few loaners).
