One of the most beautiful club rides, Nancy Lakes State Park affords gorgeous trails among giant Spruce and open swamp-meadows of untouched powder riding hard to find anywhere else in the lower Susitna Valley drainage.   Nothing technical and no steep hills etc, but this is an intermediate ride for the deeper snow in some areas.  Typical 50-75 miles total dependent on conditions.  BRING A SACK LUNCH, beverages and an extra pair of socks.

There is a $5.00 daily parking fee unless you already have a state parks parking pass (no change available at parking lot).  You need to register your sled ($10 for two winters) to ride on any state land or park, you can read more information here:  http://doa.alaska.gov/dmv/reg/snow.htm

At  Milepost 67.3 on the Parks Highway 1/2 MILE  JUST PAST HATCHERS PASS POLARIS WILLOW STORE ON THE LEFT you’ll find Nancy Lakes Parkway (turn on the left/west off the Parks) large street sign says “Nancy Lakes Parkway”, Travel approximately 2 miles (the road dead-ends into parking area where we’ll meet.)   We’ll depart at 10:30am after a brief riders’ meeting and return to the cars between 330 to 430pm.

CHECK THE HOTLINE 907-689-7777 BEFORE DEPARTING FOR THE RIDE FOR ANY LAST-MINUTE CHANGES SUCH AS WEATHER  (no change means the ride is a “go”)
