Join Chugach Forest Service Avalanche Information Center again this winter for our wildly popular Fireside Chat series!   Forecasters will present a different topic each night ranging from Human Factors to snowpack and avalanche formation. Fireside chats will be held in Girdwood AND Anchorage! As always, these seminars will be fun, informative and free!

December 19th topic:

 “Lessons Learned from Avalanche Accidents”.
Each season Blue & Gold works in conjunction with the staff of the Chugach National Forrest Avalanche Information Center to present talks to help introduce avalanche awareness and safety to the snow sport community. This fireside chat will take the form of a storytelling evening with emphasis on the lessons to be learned from accidents experienced in the mountains we love to play in.
These events are a great resource for those new to backcountry travel as well as the seasoned veteran.

The talks draw a large group and though we provide some seating it is a good idea to bring a folding chair with you-a camping chair works great.

The event is free and we encourage you to invite your friends and family to share this experience !  15 percent off Avalanche Safety Gear at the Blue & Gold Board Shop too !
