(UPDATE 2/23 this ride is postponed until March 3rd. Approaching weather system is going to make driving difficult out of Anchorage on Saturday morning and the parking lots at Petersville and Trapper Creek fill up early right now Additionally, automobile accidents out of Anchorage during a snowstorm snarl efficient exit from the city further delaying departures if at all.
DO NOT DESPAIR—the area we’re going to ride in *never* gets “tracked out” so it will still be there for us next week.
Traditionally one of the club’s favorite all-around fun rides….BUNCO BUMP !! The snow in South Denali is always the best there and the ride out to it is just as fun with wide open meadows and untracked snow.
We’ll meet at 930am at Milepost 121.5 parking lot just north of Trapper Creek on the Parks Highway and be ready to ride by 10am. Intermediate skill level and most definitely be familar with riding DEEP snow cuz we’re going to have alot of it ! Full gas and oil, bring a sack lunch and beverage, return to the cars by 5pm or so. 80-90 miles typical.
